If you drop me off on a desert island, all I ask for is a few small things: a large supply of matches; a beautiful, good woman I can love; a good stock of champagne and wine; some livestock; good health; and most of all the love and compassion of our Lord.  Maybe I’ll come to be a better and happier man in my exile.  After some time passes, your curiosity brings you back to the island to check on me.  To my surprise, you decide to switch places because where you are has become so rundown and deteriorated, and you’ve become miserable, without love or health and truly unhappy.  My punishment has become your punishment, because you have grown jealous of my happiness in my exile.
