Ebola: Double Misery or Double Crisis?

enterprisesMy heart cries as I see how the Ebola virus has been treated with less respect than a dog with worms, a cat with an eye infection, or a child with the common cold. Ignoring the lessons of previous disasters in history in a case like this can cause the loss of thousands if not millions of lives if it has not been treated or handled properly. My indignation at the ignorance of our leaders gives me shivers, and makes me very frightened and lose sleep at night. I know from experience and my knowledge how bad and devastating this can become. Common sense tells us that a contagious disease like this should immediately be quarantined. Close all possible avenues for it to spread, not leaving a single door or window open until we are able to assess what the disease brings in its belly this time and we are able to discover the new mutation it brings as it returns in the latest outbreak. When this happens the fight is always more challenging. When we are ignorant about the latest evolution, it is even more difficult to combat. Our leaders are playing Russian roulette with our health, and in their ignorance they put every single one of us at risk.
