Julio is one of those few. At 12 years old, Julio is a model Young Commander in Fidel Castro\u2019s inner circle, becoming part of the elite of Castro\u2019s military command. It is not long before Julio sees the true greed and corruption behind the government, and his heart turns against it. His Uncle invites him to join the FREEDOM FIGHTERS. For ten years Julio secretly thwarts Castro\u2019s plans, until his cover is blown in 1971.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just minutes before his imminent arrest, Julio is forced to flee Cuba, leaving his wife and son behind. Now hunted by the dreaded G-2 and Cuban Army patrols, Julio and his two friends must navigate minefields, hide, and fight for their lives in a JUNGLE SWAMP. They swim open ocean waters fending off SHARKS, the COLD, and CUBAN PATROL BOATS, finally reaching the U.S. Navy base at Guantanamo Bay and safety. They board a plane to Miami and FREEDOM.<\/span><\/p>\n

Even in the U.S., Julio is not safe. In a Miami restaurant, a phone rings and Julio is called to the back phone using his code name; he is told that his wife and son have been executed. Just then, a BOMB EXPLODES, killing both of Julio\u2019s friends and wounding Julio. In Miami, the G-2 has struck back.<\/span><\/p>\n

Julio is devastated and SWEARS REVENGE! Left with NO HOME, NO FAMILY, NO COUNTRY, and NO FRIENDS, Julio is alone. His only goal now is to FIGHT CASTRO! Trained by his new allies in the intelligence service, he learns to enter and leave Cuba so fast he lives up to the name \u201cCUBAN LIGHTNING\u201d that Fidel Castro himself gave him. He was seen in silhouette once by a guard in a flash of lightning which inspired Castro’s nickname.<\/span><\/p>\n

By 1988, Julio and his smuggled information have become so valuable to U.S. Intelligence that they devise a plan to help him out. The plan is code named \u201cTHE ZIPPER.\u201d In this INCREDIBLY AMAZING PLAN, a counterfeiting operation is set up. It actually \u201cclones\u201d currencies, like U.S. dollars, with official government paper and ink. The money produced is used by Julio and his team to close in on Castro\u2019s influence throughout the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just as Julio completes the operation, after helping funnel millions around the world, HE IS ARRESTED by the SECRET SERVICE for COUNTERFEITING! The Secret Service finds over TWENTY MILLION DOLLARS in counterfeit \u201ccloned\u201d money from the operation, and things look bad for Julio. He is not cleared, but quietly released after serving six months.<\/span><\/p>\n

Los Angeles 2010: After a lengthy fight to get access to his court case documents, including finally receiving a court order to open the case, Julio, having obtained his documents moments before they were to be shredded, drives away from the courthouse covertly tailed by government agents. As he pulls into a copy shop to make duplicates, he is surrounded by armed agents who demand the file. Julio, putting his hand on his gun says they can be taken ONLY OVER HIS DEAD BODY. Just as a gunfight is about to erupt, another group of agents pull up, drawing guns on the first group. \u201cThis man is under our protection!\u201d the agents cry. Julio is free, and soon everyone will know the truth of his story.<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u201cG-2\u201d, Cuba\u2019s SECRET POLICE, have been compared to the NAZI SS and the Soviet KGB for the atrocities committed against the Cuban people. DIGNITY, TRUTH, HONOR, and INTEGRITY are words from the past, BUT SOME WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS SITUATION. A FEW will put their lives at risk to fight Castro\u2019s Revolution.<\/p>\n

JULIO ANTONIO MARMOL is one of those people. But, because of a mole in the US, his cover is blown in 1971.<\/p>\n

But even the US is not safe: at dinner in a Miami restaurant, the men relax. A phone rings, and Julio is called to the restaurant phone using his code name; his wife and son have been executed. Julio and his smuggled information have become so valuable to US Intelligence that they devise a plan to help him out. The plan is code named \u201cTHE ZIPPER.\u201d<\/p>\n
